Myrtle Beach Days

We took our annual trip to Myrtle Beach Memorial weekend with the rest of the family. I just love these times, knowing that my children are creating memories that will last a lifetime. I love how close they are to their grandparents and the special relationships that they have with their cousins. Cooper and Elizabeth are so adorable together and they are absolutely inseparable when they get together! It's like noone else in the world exists except for the two of them. Luckily, Nancy and Kelly were able to come with us this time, so Carter also had a playmate. He and Kelly have grown so much closer over the past year, too.

I am just as intrigued by the ocean as I am frightened by it. I have always loved learning about sea creatures and now, so does Carter! I remember playing on a raft in the ocean when I was little and before we knew it, our parents would be yelling for us to come back because we would've gone way down the beach without even realizing it. Now, I'm the parent in the situation trying not to take my eyes off of my kids in fear that they'll be swallowed up by the ocean! All the while, smiling so they won't know my fears! After all, I do want them to love the ocean and to enjoy it and they certainly did this time!

David & Carter's new thing is going to the Nascar park. They started this last year and do it every time now. When Cooper is old enough, he'll be joining them, I'm sure! Carter & DD always go play putt-putt together. My new thing is walking on the beach every morning...I borrowed Laurie's MP3 player and let me tell you....there is nothing more spectacular than walking down the beach listening to praise music and staring at God's beautiful creation at the same time! WOW!

We all had a wonderful time and are already looking forward to the next trip in a few weeks!

Cooper's Spring Program

Here's some pics from Cooper's spring program at church:

Randomness....

Cooper got this bubble blowing rocket for his birthday and we all LOVE it! It actually works and the boys have a blast with it!

Spring Fling

We had a fun time at the Fair Grove Boosters Spring Fling! There was food, an inflatable slide, inflatable baseball throw, football toss, soccer kicks, dunking booth, and test your strength!

Happy Birthday, Emily!

Please excuse me for being so incredibly late on posting this, but I have been extremely busy since February (we haven't had a free weekend since then!) So, some things have accidentally gotten slid under the rug! Anyway, here is our precious niece, Emily, who just turned ONE! Isn't she adorable?!? You will most likely find her exactly like this, at any given moment, with her tongue sticking out!

Happy Mother's Day!

I am so blessed to be a Mother. It is by far the best and most rewarding job I've ever had and will ever have. I'm so grateful that God has entrusted two precious boys in my care for me to love and nurture.

Cooper brought home lots of cute little things for me from preschool. The funniest said this:
My mom...
is 10 years old.
weighs 45 lbs.
is 23 ft. tall.
likes to be on the computer.
looks the best when she has a dress on.
always says for me & Carter not to fight. (He means wrestling)
I love my Mom b/c she loves me.

Carter brought home the cutest thing. It said this:
You're a person with MOUNDS (a mounds candy bar) of work.
You always go that EXTRA (a stick of Extra gum) mile.
You give me lots of HUGS (Hershey's hug) and KISSES (Hershey's kiss).
And you are an ORIGINAL (Werther's original).

We spent the night in Reidsville Sat. night to have dinner with Grandmommy and we had lunch with Nana today. I made David's mom a DVD this year that I was so excited about. I was about to burst until this time to give it to her. I started with a slide that says "All because two people fell in love" and pictures of her parents, then on to pics of she & George, then David growing up, our wedding, Carter, Cooper, then Laurie growing up, she & Nathan's wedding, Elizabeth, Emily, and some of our family together. It ended with a slide that says "All because two people fell in love, our family was created!" I set it to special music using their songs and others that fit. My goal was to bring tears as it did every time I watched it and it worked! I hope she loved it as much as I did!

Happy Mother's Day to all of my wonderful friends and family! I hope you feel as blessed as I do today and I hope you've enjoyed your day as much as I have!

Fair Grove Field Day

Carter had field day at school on Thursday. I always enjoy watching them because it brings back memories of my own childhood days. Of course, field day is ALOT different now than it was back then...no more competitions or blue ribbons. It's better now because noone gets left out and everyone is a winner! But, oh how I loved those blue ribbons that I would win every year jumping rope and competing in the long jump! The parachute was always a fave and it still is today!

Bowling Party

The boys had their birthday party with David's side of the family and a few friends from school at TarHeel Bowling Lanes in High Point. (No, we're not very fond of the name of the place!) But, they did offer cosmic bowling, where the kids could bowl with the lights out and everything glows in the dark! They also enjoyed pizza, drinks, and cake. Carter's favorite gifts of the day were Webkinz and lots of money and gift cards! Cooper's faves were Webkinz and some Playmobil vehicles. We had a hard time coming up with a definite theme this year because the place provided everything except the cake so we weren't allowed to bring in any other food. The boys didn't want just a bowling theme, so we threw in a little Madagascar 2! A great time was had by all!

Happy Birthday, Cooper!

My baby is 4 years old! Cooper woke up to the traditional balloons on his door. On their actual birthday, they get a big chocolate chip cookie and they get to open their gift from us and from each other. We gave him a radio controlled monster truck and Carter gave him lots of little things that he picked out: a book, a Buzz Lightyear kite, a lights & sounds sword & blaster, and a Ben 10 toy. They each chose Madagascar 2 cupcakes for their classes. David & I both went to Cooper's little party at his preschool today. They also get to choose where they want to go for dinner. Cooper's restaurant of choice...........Taco Bell!

So, what can I say about Cooper? He is definitely one of a kind! He keeps us on our toes because he has always been one that you have to watch every second. If not, I can guarantee you that he's doing something he's not supposed to be doing. There have been countless stories over the years of his little shenanigans. But, he is so stinkin' cute that you absolutely cannot stay mad at him. Especially since he is usually quick to apologize with a hug, a kiss, and an I love you!

That being said, Cooper is certainly not a mean child, just one who is very curious about things. He is imaginative and I love watching him role-play. He likes to play with the Ben 10 toys and any kind of cars or animals. His favorite birthday gifts were his Webkinz and Playmobile vehicles.

Cooper's favorite color is green (notice the green writing on his cookie & he also had green candles). It's funny because all of his friends at preschool know this and they always offer Cooper the green things, like green eggs during the egg hunt, green markers, etc...

He loves to read and you can often find him in his room reading with all of the books off of his shelf and spread out around him. He also likes doing puzzles.

Cooper is definitely my little cuddler. I LOVE the fact that he still enjoys hugging, kissing, and snuggling with me while watching tv or reading a book. He walks by and gives me hugs and kisses all day long and I'm enjoying every second of it.

He is a little candy monster and his entire diet would consist of it if we let him.

He is so smart and already knows how to write his name along with recognizing most of his letters and numbers. He knows how to log into the computer and go to his favorite websites to play games.

His athletic abilities are through the roof, which he obviously gets from his Daddy. He scores goals in soccer left and right, he can hit a ball off of the T or being pitched to, and he can even play basketball on the big goal. He loves to go outside and play football with Daddy, Carter or the neighborhood kids.

He has never been a good sleeper. I guess he takes this after his big brother. He loves his big brother and he thinks he can do everything that Carter does. I'm so glad that they enjoy playing together and that they love each other.

Cooper is one of the lights of my life and he is such a joy to me every day! I am so thankful that God has blessed me with 2 healthy, precious boys to love and nurture. So, a very Happy # 4 to my little love bug!

Carter's Wax Museum

The entire 2nd grade at Carter's school did a project called The Wax Museum. They each studied biographies and chose a famous person that they wanted to portray. Carter chose David Thompson, who is known as one of the best basketball players in the ACC and of course, he used to play for the Wolfpack! Then, he went on to play in the NBA for the Denver Nuggets. He was famous for his super high jumps and dunks and he invented what is now known as the "Alley Oop!" I had ordered his biography and the DVD about his story, but they didn't come in time for Carter's project. But, even better...David Thompson himself sent Carter 2 signed photos, thanks to Grandmommy! David Thompson is now the founder of a program in Charlotte called XSalt (pronounced like exhalt), which is a Christian program to help at-risk kids learn to play basketball and to stay out of trouble. Grandmommy called and asked for his help! David Thompson actually called our house to speak to Carter!

Anyway, Carter had the awesome poster that we made together, his wolfpack basketball, a little basketball goal, and the autographed prints to use as props!

This was the cutest thing to see! All of the kids were so cute and put so much hard work into it!

The video below is of Carter's little speech, but I apologize because the sound isn't great since it was noisy in there and it's sideways! I'm trying to figure out how to rotate it!
