Buzz Lightyear Hall of Fame!

Well, I guess everyone knows by now about Cooper's infatuation with Buzz Lightyear. He constantly makes us laugh by jumping off of things saying "To infinity and beyond......" and by shooting us with his pretend laser on his arm! The small soft Buzz that "Mickey Mouse" delivered to our hotel room in Disney has become his "lovey." It is so sweet to see him holding it while he sleeps and he often says, "I want Buzz!" We have Buzz sandals, clothes, toys.......... And of course, we watch the movies almost every day! So, here's our Ode to Buzz!
"To Infinity and Beyond........!"

Here's Carter and Cooper wearing their Buzz shirts and posing with characters from Toy Story.

We ate dinner at Toy Story Pizza Planet at MGM Studios!

The Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin was one of our favorite rides!

"Mickey Mouse" came to our room while we were sleeping and left the boys Buzz space shoes that light up and Buzz and Woody dolls, which have been a huge hit!
"This was our Toy Story hotel room in Disney World."

"Carter and Cooper both got Buzz hats for their birthday!"

Memorial Weekend Beach Trip

The boys and I went to the beach with Grandmommy and DD for Memorial Weekend. We had a great time just hanging out on the beach and at the indoor pool and hot tub! We all got good laughs from watching Cooper pretend like he needed help stepping into the hot tub and then suddenly deciding to JUMP in full blast! Of course, that's all he wanted to do after that! Knowing him, he'll probably be swimming on his own by the end of the summer! Amazing!

Cooper's newest thing is shooting people with his imaginary laser on his wrist when they do something he doesn't like! He started doing that this weekend! Hilarious!

Happy Mother's Day!

"Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her" Proverbs 31:28

We went to Reidsville for Mother's Day weekend. My 3 boys brought me breakfast in bed (I'm sure with a little help from Grandmommy!) What a treat! We had a cookout with David's side of the family for dinner and ate out at a Japanese restaurant with my side of the family for lunch. My boys gave me a Hallmark gift card to get the "Brothers" Willow Tree figurine since they couldn't find it. My mom gave me money. I got a watering can, picnic caddy, and outdoor candle holder (all to match our new outdoor furniture and cushions!) from David's parents. I'm so excited to have such an enjoyable outdoor living space! We spend so much time in our backyard now because it's so nice compared to what we had. I'm so thankful for all of my gifts and most especially thankful for my loved ones. We all had a very nice day together!

Welcome to the World!

"Among the world's most treasured gifts, among its precious pearls, God smiles upon the world and gives us little girls!"

David and I are proud Aunt and Uncle to yet another niece, Macy Lynn Carter, who's just as special as the other 3! She was born on Monday, May 7th around 6:30pm. She weighed 6 lbs. 15 oz. and was 19 1/4 in. long. She is so precious! This had to be one of the happiest moments in my life to see my brother so happy and so emotional! There was a long time when I thought I'd never see this day so it just makes my heart want to burst with all of the joy it holds!

Happy Birthday, Cooper!

"Every good and perfect gift is from above." James 1:17

Cooper is 2 years old! He woke up to 2 balloons, a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse dvd, Little Einsteins cd, and a Buzz Lightyear bubble blower!

Cooper is our little handful! He likes to mess from the time he wakes up until he goes to sleep. He definitely keeps us on our toes, but he is so much fun. If he weren't so cute...............

Cooper's Highlights:
  1. Buzz Lightyear (we watch Toy Story EVERY day). He flies around the house, jumping off of things saying "To infinity and beyond!"
  2. He has a shoe fetish and even likes to sleep in them. Now, he has Buzz sandals so he never wants to take them off!
  3. He loves his big brother and copies everything he does-I guess that's good and bad?!?
  4. It looks like he's going to be our little athlete-he can already hit a t-ball and shoot b-ball among other things!
  5. He likes to read books-his favorite right now is a vintage Mickey Mouse called Barn Dance.
  6. His verbal skills are awesome-he can already carry on a conversation. My favorite things to hear him say are his name-he calls himself "Booper" and he calls Carter "Ta-Ta!"

Disney World

WOW! We just got back from a 6 day trip to Walt Disney World with Grandmommy, DD, Laurie, Nathan, and Elizabeth. The 4 of us stayed at the All-Star Movies Resort in the Toy Story Building b/c the boys think Buzz Lightyear is the greatest thing ever! What a treat it was for them to walk out of our door every morning to see a 40 ft. tall Buzz and a 38 ft. tall Woody! Other hits of the trip were the Buzz Lightyear ride and of course, seeing the Toy Story characters at MGM. "Mickey Mouse" visited our room the 1st night while we were sleeping and left the boys Buzz boots that light up and Buzz and Woody toys. Carter was at a perfect age to enjoy everything! Cooper loved seeing the characters, as long as they didn't come near him, that is! Disney truly is the happiest place on earth! The only bad thing about it is that you come home exhausted instead of rested! We had a great time and are already looking forward to going back in a few years!

Party Time!

We had a Disney Cars themed birthday party for Carter and Cooper at our house. What fun! The cake was adorable and delicious! The kids had fun painting with cars, guessing the # of cars in a container, pulling the pinata strings, and playing with their new toys! Some of their favorites were a new basketball goal, Power Wheels tractor, bike, and much more! How blessed we are to have such wonderful family and friends! Now, what are we going to do with all of these toys?!?

Happy Birthday, Carter!

"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6

I can't believe our firstborn son is 6 years old already! My, how time flies when you're having fun! Carter woke up to 6 balloons, a scooter, and a Lightning McQueen car!

Carter's Highlights:

  1. He loves his playstation-his favorite games are Cars and Basketball
  2. He plays basketball every chance he gets and will play on a team at the Y this summer
  3. Bike riding has become one of his favorites now that he actually has a place to ride and b/c he got a new bike. He has gotten pretty good. Next will be off with the training wheels.....
  4. He loves to read and has amazed us with his own reading skills. He is one of the top students in his class. He now reads to us! He is doing so well and is proud to be a Fair Grove Tiger!
  5. He loves to play outside now that he has friends in the neighborhood and things to do!
  6. Along with all of these wonderful qualities has also come one that we don't like.....attitude!

Happy Easter!

"He is not here, he has risen!" Luke 24:6

We went on an Easter Egg Hunt at the Y and Carter brought along his friend, Aiden. Cooper was terrified of the the Easter Bunny, which is why he's not in the picture with him. We went to the beach with Grandmommy and DD. Our friends, the Clarks, were also there. The Easter Bunny found his way to us. He left a trail of bunny paws from the boys' beds to their baskets, along with some "bunny droppings" (black jelly beans)! We all got a good laugh when Cooper asked, "What's that?" and when we answered, "Poop!" he proceeded to pick it up and eat it! Their favorite gifts were Wolfpack and Buzz Lightyear sunglasses, along with their Lightning McQueen shirts!

Our New Home

"By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures." Proverbs 24:3-4

We just moved to Thomasville after living in Shelby for 5 years. It was very sad to leave such a wonderful place with so many great friends, the greatest church, and the best YMCA family ever! As much as we miss it, we love our new home and neighborhood here. Carter just thinks it's terrific to have a cul-de-sac on each end of our street and lots of kids around! He has adjusted very well and loves his new school and teachers.
