Kids Say the Funniest Things...

The other morning, Cooper & I were snuggling in bed. I asked him for a kiss and he told me that I couldn't have his sugar yet b/c Jesus was getting it all and when Jesus got through with it, I could have some! Isn't that so sweet?

I tutor students in the Media Center and the Media Specialist plays Contemporary Christian music all day long at the desk. Yesterday, one of the students that I was working with asked me if I liked Rap music. I told him no and he wanted to know which kind I liked so I told him that I listen to Christian just like what is playing now. He went back to work and after a minute he said, "Does he wrestle?" I said, "Who?" and he said "Christian!" I tried so hard not to laugh and went on to explain how it's a type of music like rap. He went back to work and after another minute he said, "Does he go to your church?" Evidently, my explanation didn't go over very well!

Happy Valentine's Day!

To start the day off, we had pink heart shaped pancakes for breakfast and then heart cookies for dessert after lunch!

The boys were so excited to give me their gift, which was a Love Frog webkinz. The reason being that I have gotten addicted to playing games on Carter's webkinz site. If your child has one, check it out. It is so much fun! So, Carter and I spent some time today decorating my room and getting everything all set up. You'll see a picture of my frog, Pinky, below. She's so cute!

Nana came to spend the night with us last night so the boys got money and candy from her. Grandmommy & DD gave them candy and Space Buddies earlier this week. Their gift from us was more candy and the 2 new Madagascar/Penguin movies. As you can see, our families LOVE holidays and any excuse to give gifts. That's definitely one of our love languages! By the way, my gift to David was the FireProof movie and The Love Dare book from the movie, which I'm sure he was just thrilled to receive!

Carter had a basketball game this morning and David has a soccer tournament all weekend. So, when David finally got home, he gave me a gift certificate to a spa for a manicure! Now, I think I have had only 1 manicure in my entire life and that was for our wedding! I have just never been a pampered pooch and have never cared for that stuff. But, I've decided that after 35 years of life and now living with FOUR boys, it's time that I start getting pampered from time to time! I already have my outrageously expensive massage booked for our anniversary trip to the Grove Park Inn and I am soooooooooo looking forward to it................

Thanks to my boys for my wonderful gifts! I love all 4 of you with all of my heart...you are my life! Thanks for being my Valentines!

Farewell to Silver Valley...

Well, I said my goodbyes to Silver Valley on Thursday. It was really hard because I'm not fond of change and it's always hard for me to say goodbye. I loved (& for the record, I still do) my co-workers and truly the job. However, it is a very intense position full of paperwork, documentation, plans, meetings, etc...that was pretty difficult for me to compete with having little ones and responsibilities at home and with my own children.

I feel really bad for leaving mid-year, but ultimately, I think it was the best decision for our family and for my sanity at this time . I don't think God would open doors if He didn't want us to walk through them. So, I will be simply tutoring for the remainder of this school year and praying fervently that God will see fit for me to stay home again this fall.

I am just not one of those women who get fulfilled from a successful career. I get my joy from being a wife, mother, and homemaker and honestly, that's all I wish for out of life. Therefore, it makes it extremely difficult to financially need to work.

The wonderful staff at Silver Valley gave me these beautiful Calla Lilies, which I'm told will bloom each year after being planted and in turn, will remind me of them! My wonderful co-workers, Heather and Andrea, gave me the Love of Learning Willow Tree to add to my collection. I am so blessed to have worked with them and to have them as friends! I will miss them...not to mention my laptop, which I coveted all day Thursday before having to give it up!
