Strike!

We went bowling today with the Burgesses. Carter bowled one strike! All of the kids did very well considering! Collin and Cooper had a hard time waiting for their turn, of course. But, they still had fun!

Make new friends, but keep the old..........

Padgett, Carter, Joseph, & Cooper at Challenger 3

The boys and I went to Shelby this weekend to visit our friends and to attend our church. We went to Challenger 3 on Saturday with the Webbers. The kids had fun playing putt-putt while Kelli and I did some catching up. We also rode bumper boats, but we didn't get any pics b/c we were all in a boat and we were soaked! We spent the weekend at their house and ate lunch at Matt's parents after church on Sunday. Eating Donna Webber's cooking is always a treat! It does my heart good to go back to church there. I miss it so much! We still haven't found a church here in T'ville :(
Even more than church, I miss hanging out with Kelli the most! Although, we have done a great job of keeping in touch through e-mail and phone and I know that we ALWAYS will!

Leann, Samuel, Faith, Cooper, Carter, Caleb, Chandler, Kensley, Carter, James, & Casey at the Kings Mountain Park.

On Monday, we met our YMCA friends at the park in Kings Mountain and then went to the pool at the Y. Only 4 out of 9 of our original group were there and look at all of our precious kids! And........Tara is pregnant with #4 and Ginger is pregnant with #6! I can't tell you how much I miss this group of women! These are the kind of friends that you may not talk to every day or see each week, but you know that if you need anything at all, at anytime, you can call either one of them and they'll be right there for you! They are all strong Christians and we all have so much in common....kids same age, faith, most are stay-at-home moms, and of course, the most common thread is that our husbands all work at the Y! We always tried to get together about once a month and had so much fun doing what we do best....eat and talk!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and are already looking forward to the next one!

Learning new things!

So far this summer, Carter has learned how to ride his bike without training wheels! He got a brand-new bike for his birthday, but for some reason, he prefers riding this old thing. I think the other one is a bit intimidating and I guess he'll grow into it.

Carter has taken swimming lessons twice this year and will probably take them at least one more time before school starts. He's doing great! He's no longer wearing a belt and is even jumping off the diving board in the deep end and swimming around! What progress!
*Next up is learning how to tie shoes!

Our new playground!

Sadly, our friends and neighbors, moved. But, the one good thing that came of it is that they sold us their swing set. Carter and Cooper have been saving their money for quite awhile now so they paid for it all by themselves! (Plus, we got an awesome deal!) They are so proud and are enjoying it already! We'll miss you Cameron!

Happy Birthday, Grandmommy!

Bathing Beauties (Elizabeth, Carter, Kelly, & Cooper)!

Yes, Cooper went down this slide all by himself!

Grandmommy has been "39" forever!

Grandmommy had a pool party for her birthday and it was a wonderful idea!

Pump it Up!

We went to Pump it Up with Jill, Kelsey, and Collin. This is an indoor inflatable playground in Greensboro. We all had so much fun and played until we were completely worn out. Cooper enjoyed the slide the most, but, being the little daredevil that he is, he eventually figured out the big obstacle course after only 2 times with me. Carter and I wrestled in the big arena. This is a great place to be a kid again, but, wow, was I ready for a nap!

Happy Birthday, Kelsey!

We went to Kelsey's birthday party at Carousel Skating Rink. Carter had a blast! This is only the second time he's been skating, but he loves it! It's hard to believe that they are already 6 years old and have been friends since they were born!

Ahoy, Mateys!

Carter and Aiden went to a Pirate Luau at the library. Don't they look adorable? They had so much fun making swords and treasure chests!

All God's Creatures

We went to the Natural Science Center in Greensboro with Grandmommy, DD, & Elizabeth.
The splash fountains were a big hit! The kids loved getting wet on such a hot day!
The dinosaur exhibit is the one thing I remember being there since
I was a kid! Cooper thought it was interesting until the T-Rex roared and then he started screaming for me to pick him up!
Carter touched a snake, turtle, chocolate chip sea star, and a sea urchin. When the guy put the turtle on the floor, Cooper started crying. Then, he jumped into my arms and turned around and shot the turtle with his pretend "Buzz" laser! It was hilarious!
Elizabeth enjoyed doing the "girlie" things such as shopping!

Cute as a BUG!

We didn't realize until after we took this adorable picture that they could've actually gotten inside the turtle shell. Oh, well!

Practicing cow milkin'!

Fourth, Fun, Family, Food and Friends!

We had a cookout with my family in Reidsville last night. Carter got his 1st experience of riding the 4-wheeler all by himself! Macy was so adorable in her cute pink onesie that says "Daddy's Little Sparkler!" Cooper was so sweet with her. He wanted to hold her and he kept kissing her toes and rubbing her saying, "It's ok, baby!"

Today, me, David, and the boys went downtown. Carter wanted to walk in the tunnel that goes under the train tracks. The 2 pics you see below are the highlights of Thomasville! Ha! The water fountain and the historical Big Chair, which is how this city is known (because of the furniture making businesses!)

Tonight, we went to watch fireworks with our neighbors, Pedro, Alicia, Kelvin, & Emily and Keith, Brandy, Skyler, Aiden, & Ellie. The kids had a great time lighting sparklers and throwing pop rocks!
