Sweet taste of summer...

When you hear the familiar music trailing through the neighborhood, you know what time it is....time for a tasty ice cream treat from the ice cream truck! Just one more thing to love about summer!

Summer Basketball League

Carter plays on a summer basketball league at the YMCA in High Point. His team is the Wolfpack, of course with his daddy as his coach. He was at the top of his game this year, lighting it up each time. He was definitely on fire!

The Candy Factory

The Candy Factory is a little old-fashioned candy store in Lexington. The boys love taking a trip here each summer. Cooper is happiest when he is surrounded by his favorite things in the whole world...any kind of candy that was ever invented!

Summer Enrichment Camp

I taught at a summer enrichment camp for a week this summer and the boys were able to come with me. The focus was on Genesis and creation. We all had a blast! Here's some pics of our last day when we celebrated with pizza and water slides!

Sweet reminders...

This may mean nothing to you, but to me, this is a sweet reminder of David's grandmother, or Gran as those of us who loved her liked to call her. This hydrangea was taken from her yard after her death so we could all have a little piece of her in our own yards. In case you don't know, hydrangeas change color in different locations due to soil acidity. How fitting that this one would turn PINK in our yard since that was Gran's favorite color and also mine! She wasn't my real grandmother, but I claimed her as such...one of the greatest women I've ever known!

God's Promise

Carter has been bugging me about updating my blog (yes, he loves to read it!) Sorry if I've seemed slack but, we've had just a few minor incidents occuring in the Pollock household lately. Oh, just little things like kidney stone surgery and meningitis. Not much, but enough to prevent me from posting for awhile. So, what better way to return than with a beautiful picture we captured of God's promise to us.

I miss Mayberry.......

Today, we did something that I've always wanted to do. Cooper and I went to Mount Airy (A.K.A Mayberry) with my Uncle Jr. and Aunt Doris. I grew up watching The Andy Griffith Show and it was so neat to see all of the memorabilia from the past. It's pretty cool walking downtown and hearing the theme song from the show playing. We had a fun and exhausting day!

Cooper was right at home in Opie's Candy Store, surrounded by his favorite things in the whole world...candy & bubblegum!
