First Days of School

We went to school today,
My little boy and I.
I worried all through breakfast,
Afraid that he might cry.
I watched him walk away
With pride and I was quite alone.
The tears I thought,
Would surely be his,
Are indeed my very own!

I can't believe that my oldest is in 4th grade and my baby is in Kindergarten! Carter started on Wednesday. He has a brand new teacher named Miss Coney and he likes her alot. Cooper had orientation on Wednesday and attended on Monday. He has Mrs. Albertson, who is the same teacher that Carter had and whom we all LOVE dearly! We're so excited! Plus, one of his best friends, Ellie, is in his class! He was super excited and ready to go so, we're looking forward to a great year!

Happy birthday, Alexis!

Thirty-One Team

These are some of my girls on my Thirty-One Team, 31 Princesses (because we're all Daughters of the King!) I'm so blessed and thankful to have each and every one of them!

Meet the Pack Day

Pictures from where DD, David & Carter went to Meet the Pack Day at NC State:

Carter's new bedding...

Well, Cooper got new bedding so now, it's Carter's turn! I LOVE IKEA!

Prayer

I just stole this from my sister-in-law, Laurie's, blog! We both have little ones going to Kindergarten!

A Mom's Prayer On the First Day of School

Here we are again, Lord. Their backpacks are loaded and their faces are scrubbed and their lunch accounts are full.

And I know you'll walk with them, Lord. You always do. But a mom still has to ask.

Will You walk with them? Will You whisper to them what they need to hear,
when I'm not there to whisper it?

Will You please, oh please, cover their school with the protection only You can give, and will You keep harm far away?

Will You make their minds strong and ready to learn? Will You help them understand that hard work honors the One who created them?

Will You guide their teachers, giving them patience and wisdom and creativity and more patience? Will You bless them for their efforts?

Will You love all those children there, the ones whose lunch accounts aren't full, the ones who feel alone?
Will You teach my children to be kind and unselfish and to love those who are different from them?
Will You point them back toward home just as soon as you can?

Lord, I give them to You today and everyday, trusting them to Your care.

Family Reunion, Round 2

We had another family get-together with David's dad's family! This is one that we look forward to every year. It's held at his Uncle Louie's house, which is a masterpiece, by the way. They have a pool so it's a great place for the kids to play. Unfortunately, the weather was cool this year, but the kids didn't mind. They still swam, played basketball, tag & hide-n-seek! We always enjoy being with the cousins!

Gators Basketball

Carter played summer basketball at the new Y on the Gators team. He had some of his best friends on his team, so they all had a great time!

Family Reunion

We attended a family reunion for David's mom's family at Falls Lake in Creedmoor, outside of Raleigh. It was very HOT, but it was nice to see everyone. At least the kids were able to cool off in the lake!

Cooper's new room

Cooper got a newly decorated bedroom, all in sports!

Chuck E. Cheese & Legos

We took our bi-annual day trip to Concord to meet some of our best friends, The Webbers, at Chuck E. Cheese. We also went to the new Lego Store at Concord Mills. The kids had tons of fun, as usual. It's always like they've never been apart, which I love! They're always so happy to see each other and so sad to leave. We love them and miss them so much!

Thirty-One National Conference

I attended Thirty-One's National Conference in Columbus, Ohio and had a BLAST! Lots of fun girl time was had by all...learning, celebrating, eating & shopping! I had the awesome opportunity to walk across stage for being promoted to Senior Consultant and Director during this past year. Joining Thirty-One was the best decision I've ever made! I absolutely LOVE working for this company and have never been happier. I have to ask myself "Am I really getting paid for this?" God has blessed me, our family, and this business more than I could've ever imagined. I'm so grateful for that and whether it's His plan for me for the next month or years to come, I will never stop praising Him for giving me this wonderful gift!

Pollock Family Annual Beach Trip

Beach, Round 3...

We had another great trip to the beach, playing in the sand, swimming, making 4th of July cupcakes, decorating seashells & being lazy!
