Labor Day Weekend

We decided to do something different this year and take a trip to the mountains!

Camp Cheerio is a branch of the High Point YMCA. It's quite pricey, but I imagine well worth it for your children! I've only heard great things and now that we've actually experienced a touch of it ourselves, I'm sure of it! It overlooks the Blue Ridge Mountains and has tons of fun activities including a slide and zip-line that goes over the lake, a huge pool, and lots of sporting activities. The boys are all set to go next summer (we are very fortunate that it's one of David's perks)!

After some fun and dining at Camp Cheerio, we headed to the New River to spend the night in a little "cabin" by the River. We enjoyed a lazy tube ride down the river and then we ran into some friends from home. We had a cookout together and then roasted marshmallows over the campfire. The boys had so much fun playing 4 squares and racing.

The next day, we took a scenic drive through the Blue Ridge Parkway before heading home.

We are not outdoorsy/camping kind of people so, this was a stretch for us. But, it was a good one! We really enjoyed it and will definitely be doing this again!

ooooo... looks like fun. Kinda reminds me of Camp Thunderbird. Probably the same concept & if it is, I know you had a wonderful time.
